“Fūjin Izakaya is built on the foundation of omotenashi–the traditional Japanese art of hospitality, which is at the heart of everything we do. The word comes from omote-ura nashi, literally meaning there’s no front or back. Omote means “public face”, the image you present to the world, while nashi means nothing. Combining both words means giving selfless service with sincerity–honest, not pretending or hiding anything–not just in front of the service but also behind it. This philosophy continues to guide everything we do, from the way we welcome our guests to the way we prepare every dish and drink,” shared Banny Parasutha, Operational Manager of Fūjin Izakaya.

“The heart of Fūjin Izakaya lies in its culinary delights,” said Rui Yamagishi (Chef Owner of Fūjin Izakaya). “We focus on maintaining the rich Japanese tradition in our menu while adding our own modern twists. You’ll find a wide variety of classic and contemporary izakaya-style dishes, from kushiyaki and robatayaki to the classic beloved ramen. We also bring a few signature highball creations to elevate the drinking experience. For those looking for non-alcoholic options, matcha is the star of the show. We carefully curated the premium ingredients for our signature beverages, such as Strawberry Matcha Latte and Matcha Chizu.” In the dessert section, together with Pastry Chef Nabila Yoestino, the modern izakaya rejoices in Matcha Crème Brûlée, brought here a long way from Rayjin Bali as an homage to where it all began. The Miso Caramel Cake is also one to look for, as it is a nod to Japanese savory paste in the form of a sweet dessert.
